About Jeff Jewell
Jeff Jewell (jj) is a husband and father living in the upstate of South Carolina discovering a path for making a living within his own life.
jj enjoys computers, particularly OS X software and vintage Atari hardware; music, particularly guitars and the work of Elvis Costello, REM, and The Beatles; and comics, particularly the work of Carl Barks, Steve Ditko, Frank Miller, and Mike Allred. jj was once an impressive physical specimen, particularly adept at throwing and catching footballs, clogging foul lanes, spiking volleyballs, driving Titleists with a 2-iron, and doing pretty much anything involving a Frisbee… but must admit he’s currently in need of a tune-up and some body work.
jj’s work experience has included sales and IT positions with megacorporations Multimedia, Procter & Gamble, and Rockwell Automation; hospitality management with both national brands Vie de France and McAlister’s Deli and local institutions The Handlebar and The Northgate Soda Shop; and freelance work ranging from event production to systems support and consulting to live musical performances.
In 2009, jj was frustrated while failing to fufill a New Year’s Resolution to post daily weblogs. During an autopsy, if you will, of that Resolution, jj realized he was trying to change his life to fit a program… and decided he’d rather change the program to fit his life. On June 1. 2009, jj pointed his original jjewell.com domain at this WordPress weblog, for exploring and documenting the ways to present yourself in the cloud.
